EMPOWERED CHILDBIRTH CLASS

A complete childbirth class that covers the third trimester of pregnancy and how to prepare for labor. Empowered childbirth includes topics such as when to call your provider, breathing and relaxation exercises, and what to expect postpartum.

We will cover hands on comfort techniques and laboring positions for all phases of labor as well as pushing techniques and positions. There will also be a brief discussion about spinning babies/belly mapping, pain relief options, and potential medical procedures.

This is a very active class! Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily, and bring a yoga mat/beach towel and a pillow. 45 minutes will be given for a lunch break but it is a good idea to bring a snack.

There will be an option to do a " trial run" AFTER class where you can meet the instructor in OB Triage and see any empty rooms that are available.

BASICS OF BREASTFEEDING

A class for soon-to-be new parents taught by a certified lactation consultant, appropriate any time during your pregnancy. Prepare for breastfeeding with this course that covers all you'll need to know: how breastfeeding works, how to get a good latch, how to establish an abundant milk supply, how to know that baby is getting plenty of milk.

In class we'll use dolls and artificial breasts to offer hands-on practice with varied breastfeeding positions and hand expression of breast milk. You'll leave knowing how to prevent and solve common breastfeeding difficulties.

Partners welcome and encouraged to come!

HYPNOBABIES

Hypnobabies is hypnosis for birth that will teach you to instantly put yourself deep in hypnosis yet still be able to move around and talk. In Hypnobabies, we teach real medical hypnosis techniques, creating an automatically peaceful, relaxing and more comfortable pregnancy, a calm confident Birth Partner, and an easier, much more comfortable natural birthing process for our Hypno-Mom.

It is a very successful 6 week, 3-hours per week, complete childbirth education course that was adapted with permission from Master Hypnotherapist Gerald Kein’s “Painless Childbirth Program” techniques, rather than using simple relaxation, breathing or guided imagery. This allows our Hypno-Moms to enjoy “eyes-open childbirth hypnosis”, easily remaining deeply in hypnosis while walking, talking and changing positions; being as mobile as they would like to be during childbirth. Hypnobabies is well-known for helping women to create much shorter, easier and more comfortable labors, making childbirth the joyful experience it was meant to be.
